If there is anything Cam and I have learned owning our own business it is that anything that can go wrong WILL. It has taught us a few things, chocolate and a walk around the block with Geno fixes all the things, and to always have a backup plan.

For example: We came back home from a weekend away, with a tight deadline to get out orders on time, I load the paper in the printer, que the order up to print, and there it was an ERROR message from my trusty printer.

There would have been no way for us to get a new printer here and set up for those orders to ship on schedule.

Thank goodness for our backup plan{s}! About an hour, and hands covered in ink later problem solved, I turned two broken printers into one working one. Thanks to our printer graveyard in the other room. But in case that didn't work out, we always have a printer on standby for times like this.

Run your own business? Make your own backup plan!

Think of all the things that can break, malfunction, or give out at a moments notice. Can you get them locally? Would getting them the next day cost you an arm and leg to ship to you? If any of them would throw your schedule off MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP PLAN.

That way in the heat of frustration that is something going wrong, because believe me, it NEVER happens when you are a week ahead on work and have all the time in the world to replace the item, you have a plan.

So what are some of the things you have on backup?

It's Monday, everyone's least favorite day of the week. Nothing cheers me up more than online shopping, even if it is just online window shopping. So here are some of my picks to beat the Monday Blues see what I did there?

Sunday Social

Linking up for the Sunday Social today with Neely & Ashley

This Weeks Questions:
What is your biggest driving pet peeve?
People who don't use their turn signals, or people who are texting and then look up and slam on their breaks whether they need to or not.

What is your biggest blogging pet peeve?
It would have to be people who exclusively post pictures of just themselves, especially if they have nothing real to say with them. I think the whole point of blogging is the writing aspect of it and starting a conversation.

What is your biggest shopping pet peeve?
I love a good deal! So when stores have signs describing the sale they are having, and then you get to the register and they tell you they are sorry but those signs are for yesterday's sale, and then won't honor the price. Take the signs down if that sale is over!

What is your biggest general pet peeve?
People who don't really listen to you while you are talking. They have one eye on you and one eye trying to find someone to have a better conversation with. They nod while you are talking and maybe even respond to your questions, but then they ask you about the same thing 50 times and you realize they haven't been paying attention this whole time!

What is your most irrational fear?
I have a fear of anything medical, I know the shot isn't going to hurt but I still cry like a 5 year old anyway

Meet Geno

If you follow me on instagram {@nicolinaw} you know it has been all puppy cuddles over here.

We adopted our little guy, Geno, from Atlanta Pet Rescue on Wednesday. He is a 1 year old, Dachshund mix, we think with maybe some lab and beagle but aren't 100% sure. He has been a great addition to our crew.  We don't really know too much about him but APR got him from Henry County Animal Control early last week. We met him Saturday and fell in love, he had to get his surgery {snip snip} on Tuesday and then we could pick him up Wednesday.

We couldn't have been more impressed with Atlanta Pet Rescue, and would recommend them to anyone in our area looking to adopt a dog or cat!

As far as his name, anyone who knows Cameron knows how much he loves the Pittsburgh Penguins, Geno is named after his favorite player, Evgeni "Geno" Malkin. It just kind of fit, and he is already responding to his name!

So far Geno is super chill, likes peanut butter, his new bed, following us around, strangely he loves the vacuum {match made in heaven for Cameron}

Would you believe that he is my first pet? {unless you count hermit crabs} He is already getting more and more comfortable in his new home, and once he is 100% better from his surgery we know he will love going to the park!

Life Lately

The lack of regular posts here are 100% the fault of a busy life. Cameron and I have basically been running since February, and it hasn't let up!

It is wedding season, so that means more invites are heading out the door than anything else. We love working to make someones special day magical, but they take way longer than art prints!

We are also working on some awesome new product shots, to put on our NEW WEBSITE which we hope to have up and running by May 1st

We got accepted to Indie South Fair's Springtacular, click here to see the Etsy local event, so we are excited to see all of our local customers again! May 3rd & 4th in Athens, GA

AND all of this is on top of a busier than usual personal life as well

Thank you to all the kind emails and texts about my Grandfather when I posted last week. He had his procedure Monday and they are keeping him through the week to monitor his heart. And like they always say, when it rains it pours. So basically anything that could have happened this week has!

I hope it will be calming down in the coming days and week, but maybe this is just our new norm, I hope to find more time to blog and work on our website because I miss it! What have you been up to? Miss me or didn't even know I was gone?!
