Today is the 2nd Edition of {THANK YOU THURSDAY}
See the ORIGINAL POST HERE to learn all about it!

Today I am saying THANK YOU to something from my childhood. Something I kinda forgot about until recently. A program that I used when I was little, it was my first CD program and my first adventure in designing. I was thinking about it last week and then I did what any reasonable person would do. I got on Ebay and tried to see if I could find it. I did! So for less than $12 I got it new in the box delivered to my door, and though I can't use it on my computer {I would need Windows '95 haha} It is really fun to look at what got me loving what turned into my business!

Dear Barbie Print'n Play,

Thank you for coming into my life and inspiring my love of design. It is pretty amazing when a 6 year old realizes she loves making cards and designing stationary and then actually turns that into a business when she grows up.

The year was 1996, my family was super cool with our giant windows computer. I was an adorable 6 year old who loved her some Barbie when you came into my life. I was fascinated by the options. I created stickers, stationary, invites and cards like a pro. I knew I was in love with paper goods and designed from then on. You even helped me create invites for my parents surprise 15th anniversary party {I was 6} that featured Barbie + Ken dancing on the front they were a hit! {I wish I had kept one!}

Barbie Print'n Play you turned me into the graphic designer I am today and for that I am thankful. Imagine what my life would have been like if my parents bought me an Easy Bake Oven instead of you. I might have been a baker and not a graphic designer. I guess we will never know.

Thanks Barbie Print'n Play!

XO, Nicole

Check out the packaging, the huge-ness of the computer kills me, and the screen shots are EXACTLY how I remember them. I was so excited to get this in the mail I can't even tell you.
